Looking for some new apps for your iOS device to start the new year? We still have a week before 2015 debuts, but why wait? Here is a list of ten paid iOS apps that you can download and install on your Apple iPhone or Apple iPad for the low, low price of zero. So without further adieu, here are the apps that would normally cost you 36 of your hard earned dollars.

Let’s start with Week Calendar, which is normally $1.99. As its name suggests, this is a calendar that helps remind you of your appointments. You can view the calendar by year, month, week or day. You can also make in-app purchases of sports schedules, moon phases and holidays. View at a glance your schedule for the week. Sounds like a good pick up for the busy iOS user.

Normally 99 cents, you can now add the Amount app to your iOS powered device for free. Amount is a unit converter which quickly translates 700 units in 30 categories including currencies. Among the categories are: Acceleration, Angles, Area, Clothing (men and women), Cooking, Currency, Data, Density, Electric current, Energy, Flow (mass and volume), Force, Frequency, Fuel Consumption, Illuminance, Length/Distance, Luminance, Metric System, Network speed, Power, Pressure, Radiation, Speed, Temperature, Time, Torque, Typography, Viscosity (dynamic and kinematic), Volume and Weight/Mass. This app certainly could come in handy.

Next up is Hiversaires, which would usually run you $2.99. This is a point and click adventure game “in a textless world.” Moving right along, Oquonie is a $2.99 puzzle game that will help you kill some time. Emoji++ is a custom QWERTY for iOS 8 that replaces the default keyboard on your device. Emoji++ was created just to help you post emoji as fast as possible. The app normally costs 99 cents. Also normally 99 cents is Shift. This app allows you to create and save your own photo filters using different combinations of “textures, colors, and blends.”

You will be saving $2.99 if you download and install Manually. This app employs a simple to use UI to help you manually set controls over your camera. Among the settings at your fingertips is Manual Focus, ISO, Shutter Speed, Exposure, and White Balance. Up next is tinyCalc, an app that brings you custom calculators and widgets. All standard scientific calculator functions are included. Globo, which is normally priced at 99 cents, gives you world time and weather. And the list ends with an app that showed up in a previous list of paid iOS apps that were available for free. Flying Benjamins HD is normally $19.99 and is a helicopter based video game. A free in-app purchase will give you access to the brand new HD Blackhawk Helicopter for use in the game.

Since we have no idea when the developers will start charging for these apps again, your best bet is to download and install the ones you want, immediately.
